What is a strength and conditioning coach?

A strength and conditioning (S&C) coach holds a Level 4 qualification focused on building physical performance: strength, speed, power and the ability to keep doing it without breaking down.

Plain-English guide. FASTER lists qualified trainers; it does not deliver the training itself.

What it means

S&C is not just lifting heavy. It is a structured approach to getting more capable: warm-ups that work, progressions that build, and programming that fits your sport or your life.

Whether you play a sport or just want to be strong and durable, an S&C coach plans the long game rather than chasing a single hard session.

Common questions

Do I need to be an athlete for S&C?

No. The same principles that build athletes build a stronger, more durable everyday body. Many S&C clients are not competing at all.

How FASTER fits in: we list trainers who hold this qualification and verify it before they go live. We do not deliver the training or take responsibility for the service. The relationship is between you and the trainer.
