The questions
- What qualification do you hold, and who awarded it?
- Are you insured, and can I see current proof?
- When does your first aid certificate expire?
- Have you trained people with my goal or situation before?
- What does a first session look like with you?
- How do you progress a programme over time?
- What happens if something hurts or is not working?
- Do you work in person, online, or both?
- What does it cost, and do you offer packages?
- Can I see your Google reviews?
What good answers sound like
Specific, not vague. A good trainer names their qualification and awarding body, shows proof without fuss, and talks about how they would approach your goal rather than reciting a sales pitch. If the answers are all about packages and pressure, keep looking.
Where FASTER stands: we list qualified trainers and show you the facts. We are not responsible for the service any trainer provides, and the relationship is strictly between you and them. These guides exist so you can make that call well.
Common questions
What should I ask a personal trainer before hiring?
Ask about their qualification and awarding body, current insurance and first aid, experience with your goal, how a first session works, how they progress training, pricing, and their Google reviews.
